Please remember to keep your insurance information up to date with the membership secretary! Your ride entry may be refused or points may not be awarded if you fail to do this... 

Important message from the committee:
"Please be aware that any abuse of ride organisers, marshals, the general public or other riders will not be tolerated by the committee. Anyone found to be guilty of bringing the club into disrepute will be banned from future rides and have any membership held cancelled with immediate effect."

This website has been developed to help us stay in touch with members and provide an information point for anyone interested in joining AVR. If you have any comments or suggestions about the website then please let us know...

Details and entry forms for the rides will be e-mailed (or posted to those members without e-mail) to current members a few weeks prior to the ride date. Entry forms can also be downloaded from our 'ride dates' page in advance of this time. Please return completed entry forms to the ride organiser. Entries normally close one week before the ride, which allows us to order bespoke rosettes for each ride. Ride entries are generally non-refundable, unless the ride is cancelled by the organiser. 

Our rides are also open to non-members again in 2017. Ride entry forms for non-members can be downloaded from this website or our Facebook page. Membership is only £15 per year, so why not join AVR and benefit from a cheaper ride entry fee. AVR members gain one point for each ride completed or each ride where they assist as a ride marshall. At the end of the season AVR hold an Awards Meal and presentation evening.
Members gain awards based on how many rides they have completed during the season...
All rides completed (Platinum), then gold, silver and bronze for riders completing fewer rides.

Ride Marshalls
The number of marshalls required to run a ride will be stated on the ride entry form. If the organiser does not get sufficient volunteers the ride will not run. Please remember that all organisers and marshalls give up their time voluntarily so all participants are reminded to be courteous and polite.
Ride marshalls are given a food voucher for the day and a point which goes towards the end of season award tally. They are also given a free ride voucher to redeem at any AVR Ride (excluding charity rides). Non riders are given a food voucher and will also be offered a small token of £15 in appreciation of their efforts. 

Rider Number Tabards
Each AVR member is issued with a rider number and will wear a yellow florescent tabard with this number printed on the front and back. This increases the visibility of riders and also helps marshalls to check off riders quickly as they pass. New members who require 'tabards' for this season will receive them through the post once the membership fee and 'one-off' tabard fee have been received by the Membership Secretary. This number is then yours for as long as you are a member of AVR.

Non-members will be issued with pink numbered tabbards, which must be returned following every ride.

AVR Awards not collected from 2016
I think everyone has collected their awards from 2016 with the exception of a couple that are being collected from the first rides. Well done everyone!
